CDA post-graduate scholarship applications are due May 15

Do you know of any post-graduate university students interested in dams? Encourage them to apply for a CDA Scholarship!  While the candidates have to apply for the scholarships, CDA members and others are encouraged to make any eligible students aware of the scholarships and mentor them in applying.

About the CDA Scholarship Program
CDA offers two scholarships annually to full-time postgraduate students attending a Canadian university or college whose program of study focuses on dam safety and/or the management of dams.

The Gary Salmon Memorial Scholarship, valued at $5,000 is awarded to the top applicant and the CDA Research Scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to the runner-up. Candidates are evaluated on the relevance of their research work and the potential for the advancement of knowledge, leadership and community involvement, and academic excellence.

In addition to the cash value of the scholarships, the recipients of both the CDA Gary Salmon Memorial Scholarship and the CDA Research Scholarship will each receive the following:

  • Complimentary student registration to the 2019 CDA Conference to be held in Calgary from October 6 to 10 (approximate value $500).
  • Travel expenses from anywhere in Canada to Calgary to attend the 2019 Conference (in accordance with the CDA Travel and Expense policy).
  • Up to three nights' paid accommodation at the conference hotel.

For additional information or to download the scholarship application, please visit the CDA website.

Completed applications are due on May 15.
